Second pleinair of the day: another quarry. Water is turquoise/green because of copper and iron. Scuba 🤿 divers can use this quarry and I found instruction signs for them. Oil on canvas piece, size: larger than the first quarry painting above. What a fun and sunny day!

This landscape is based on my pleinair studies and my own photographs from the area called Koli (east of Finland). Also, famous Ukrainian painter Ilja Repin painted here in his later years, l think. I'm preparing this painting for my June exhibition where I will take some 20 paintings. "Koli"...

Joy, very beautiful 😍 these colors are challenge to paint. I like the color harmony, and the table color is special, my favourite. The red pepper shows so well from the negative space. Just few thoughts that came to mind when seeing this beautiful artwork.
