    Recent pet portrait

Recent one that I hate. The client wanted a neutral background and I had it a lovely soft gray marbled with lavender, but she kept insisting on more and more gray until it is basically a black and white painting. It was difficult enough to paint white on white but dulling the background makes me...

    I t'ot I taw a puddy tat!

I have quit fooling around with this now and am giving it its own thread. Scratchboard 8" X 10". I didn't post it in my other scratchboard thread because it is too far down in the basement.

    Rico

Rico was a stud horse owned by a friend. He died of a rare disease, Potomac Horse Fever. She had loved this horse for 11 years and wanted him preserved in a painting so Rico is now a paint horse.

Our little forum has hit 500 members! Now if all those members were just active, wouldn't we have a busy community? :giggle: 👍

    Commissioned dog portrait

I'm going to call it finished and give it a thread. 16"X20" oil.

    Gene

I posted this recently in the What Are You Working On thread, but I am finished now and will give him his own thread. This little guy I suppose is considered on the spectrum but he is very intelligent in many ways and can remember everyone he has ever met. Calls them by name and remembers what...

    Delivered another one today.

I've been selling quite a few paintings on Facebook, to my surprise. I just delivered this one today. I just post them and say available and it seems to be working. Just needs to happen a bit more often.😄

Let's Just Call it Finished, Mom

I've had this oval frame and canvas for years and just wanted to put something on it. I may decide later to paint something else over it but I had fun.

    Gift for a friend.

I didn't take a picture of it before I gave it to a friend but she posted a photo on facebook so here tis. She lost her husband to COVID and was having a rough time of it so I drew him for her, she was delighted.

    By Golly, I did it!

This picture is wonky because I was determined to get all 5 of them in one photo. Anyway, it was just to prove that I accomplished it.😄 😜

    Picture of a Picture

I've been working on this forever, it seems. Since I can't carve out much time to paint, I've had lots of paint dry up on the palette, but I think I'm nearing the finish line. I actually got a much better photo of it with my phone than I did with my expensive camera so here tis.

    Latest Commish

This was a commission. This person was deceased and a friend wanted to get it for his widow. While I was posting this I got a call for another one just like it. :giggle::cautious: I was never high on doing more than one of the same but it is what it is.

    Glory Hole

This is a photo taken by a friend. This is the Glory Hole in Newton County Arkansas. It is a round hole through the rock that has a small stream of water running through it. We've had below 0 temperatures for the past few days and this is what you see in those conditions. So unusual and pretty.

    Doggie commission

I've been working on this what seems like forever. Had lots of paint dry on the palette, but could only paint in short segments. It is almost finished now. I will pick at it some more because as always, I see things that need correcting right AFTER I post it. Hopefully I can get a better photo...

    WIP (cat)

I'm back at one of those times when I have no time (like when was it any different?) so I only have a minute here and a minute there to do art. That's when I fall back on pencil or colored pencil and sometimes scratchboard because I can lay them aside without paint drying on the palette. I...

    Experiment on newsprint

This was an experiment to see how it would turn out. I wanted to see how I could paint on newsprint without it soaking in or showing through. I had the canvas already toned so I used clear gesso to adhere the newsprint to the canvas. After the 3rd try I finally got it to work for me. I let it...

    Testing

Yes, on posting a new thread, I see Discussion or Poll. Going to toss in an image and see. No problem at all. Just toss it into the Discussion portion.
